This exhibition was based on the exhibition 'Metamorphoeses des Künstlerbuches' which was presented as part of Documenta VI in 1977 in Kassel. This exhibition is much larger and more comprehensive and attempted to illustrate the complete range of artists' books up to 1978.174pp with numerous full-page b/w illustrations plus detailed catalogue on some 200 books.
